Additives for Oil Well Cementation: Pangea

The high performance concrete that petroleum extraction (from the depths of the Earth) involves (temperatures of more than 100ĒC, pressures ten times greater than pressure at sea level ) make nanotechnology an interesting tool to develop solutions.

The CT Pangea line of products is the solution given by nanotechnology for the oil well cementation. The multiple properties provided by Pangea in the cementation of oil wells (filtration control, dispersion, impermeability, abrasion, high resistance at early age, stability in critical atmosphere features -high temperature and pressure-), gave origin to its name because it recalls the properties or the Earth when all the continents were a single one.

A 0.2% of Pangea I replaces 20% of microsilica in the cementation. With Pangea, the cement grout reaches 30MPa in 24 hours and 70MPa in 48 hours. And the oil wells can now be ready to initiate their operations before the usual time.

Since 2005, "Servicios y Suministros de Oriente", a Venezuelan oil services company, has been using Pangea in the oil wells cementation.
